When it comes to shooting photos with food, there’s absolutely no rule except for having fun – oh and eating the food you posed with, because wasting food is a no go!
This kind of pics are a great way to create something different from your usual content, show creativity and surprise your audience. In addition to this, it doesn’t take much organisation to be able to shoot with food and can be very spontaneous. In two words, it’s simple and efficient!
Time to discover the different ways I played around with food to create fun photos. Get inspired by these ideas and create cool photos with your food and drinks!

My photo gear
1. The sip
Whatever you’re drinking, use it to complete your photo. Take a sip or just hold the drink in front of you, either way, it’ll give a nice lifestyle vibe to your pic!
2. The candid
Get caught red-handed eating for this style of pic! The trick is to hold the food in your hands and pretend you haven’t already eaten it while you totally did! This will result in a fun candid pic with a happy vibe.
3. The presentation
This is the perfect pose for when you’re super proud of or excited about your food! Simply hold your plate in front of yourself and smile. This pose will bring fun to your pic, showing how happy you are about what you’re about to eat.
4. Passively waiting
This pose is more formel, yet is perfect for when you want to capture your food with a view! Turn your back to the camera, look at the horizon and make sure you don’t hide the plates so that they’re visible.
5. From the other side
This one is another basic, it’s similar to the previous one, but shot from the front. Bring a little extra touch to the photo by moving or doing something in front of the camera so that it appears more alive, just like I did below!
6. The bubblegum
This is a very specific idea, but it’s a cool one. Ensure you’re chewing on a gum that makes great bubbles, make a big one and shoot! This results in a fun photoshoot!
7. The “too hungry to wait”
This one is one you’ll like! Slightly similar to “the candid” presented before, this pose requires you to eat the food you’re posing with (I knew you would like this pose 😉 ). Oh and don’t forget to make a hungry or “enjoying my food” face to give more character to the photo!
8. The focus
For this one, you have to be on the pic without really being on it haha. Indeed, the idea is to focus the photo on the food, all while having a little extra something to look at in order to make the photo more interesting and alive.
