Puff Sleeves — New York, Paris, and Milan
The bigger the better, right? That’s certainly the trend for dresses (and some tops!) this season. Some of the boldest outfits featured puffed sleeves, a design that draws attention to the shoulders and gives the appearance of a smaller waist. For tops, try pairing with a flowy skirt to enhance the whimsical effect.
Capes and Ponchos — New York and Paris
With the weather getting colder, adding another layer is a great way to stay warm. New York and Paris saw a lot of outfits that centered around capes and ponchos. Either of these would make a stylish addition to the perfect fall ensemble!
Fringe — Paris and Milan
Looking to add a little vintage flair, or shake things up a little? A fringed skirt or dress might be just what you need! A piece with fringed edges adds a unique accent to any outfit. If you’re feeling more daring, a piece fringed all the way through will be sure to turn heads.

Leather Trench Coats — New York and Paris
New York and Paris showcased a daring twist on a wardrobe staple this season. A classy cross between biker jacket and oversized coat, the leather trench coat is the perfect touch to your fall fits.
Checks Everywhere!
A common pattern throughout all the shows was plaid. While this is no surprise, plaid is being styled in more and more ways every year. It can be paired with solid colors, different prints, and—of course—more plaid! It is a very versatile print that can make a statement in any ensemble.
