Where to stay in Milan – Our experience at the Palazzo Matteotti Hotel

Looking for a well located and cool hotel in Milan? Mathew and I tried one that you would certainly like too.

Booking hotels wherever you go is always a challenge. Between the location, the interior, the facilities and the budget, there’s a lot of criteria to take into account. Luckily, we found a great one here!

Even though we don’t spend most of our time in our hotel room when on holidays, because we love to wander and discover the city, it remains very important to have a comfortable room.

The one we had at Palazzo Matteotti totally fulfilled the contract! It’s light, spacious and the decoration is modern and original. Moreover, it overlooked a quiet courtyard, so we didn’t hear any traffic or anyone at night.

As for the bathroom, it had one sink and a shower, was spacious and well laid out, perfect for me and my many beauty products! 😉 We also had quality shower products, as well as bathrobes and slippers at our disposal. The perfect outfit to go to the spa!

The spa area is composed of a pool, a hammam, a sauna and several beds, and looks like nothing I had ever seen before! These bubbles and blue lights create a modern, artsy and fun atmosphere that I really enjoyed, because it has something kind of entertaining all while being relaxing.

We went there at about 5pm, it wasn’t crowded at all which we appreciated a lot. We enjoyed a cup of tea with a few nuts and fruits from the spa buffet, all while being on our bed listening to the relaxing music that was playing.

The time we spent in the hammam, swimming in the pool and on the bed with our cup of mint tea was perfect to refresh after having spent hours walking in the city.

When we were looking for hotels, I directly noticed the decoration of the Palazzo Matteotti. It looked modern, different and fun! And we weren’t disappointed when we arrived, because it was exactly as we expected, if not better. What’s more, the staff was incredibly nice and helpful.

For the little story, the concierge service helped us book a table for Valentine’s Day dinner. One day before the D day, we still hadn’t planned anything, because we didn’t want to do anything special. Yet, we quickly realized that if we wanted to eat outside on this evening, we had to book something asap. Obviously, the majority of the restaurants were already fully booked… Shame on us for not having been more organized! But the hotel’s team did everything to get us a table at one of the restaurants they recommended, and they managed. We really appreciated their help and commitment, and spent a wonderful Valentine’s Day dinner thanks to them!

Appreciating little attentions a lot, I was also touched to find chocolates on our night table every single evening. And you all know how much I love chocolate, so you can imagine how happy I was!

Overall, we had a wonderful stay at the Palazzo Matteotti and would go back there tomorrow if we could! I’m more than happy to provide you with more information if needed! Just let me know 😉

Lots of love, Pauline
